Occupational health & safety management system according to international standard ISO 45001:2018

1. General introduction

Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) is one of the most important and vital mission for the construction industry in particular with possibility of potential high-risk factors.

For effective management of Occupational Health & Safety, the leadership of North Star Construction - Trading Joint Stock Company decided to apply the Occupational Health & Safety management system according to international standards ISO 45001:2018 in the Company’s operation.

The operational procedures on “OHS” are standardized in writing, clearly classified in terms of functions and duties for each department and staff so that tasks are implemented right from the beginning under strict control, thereby reducing the workload, time waste and human resources, saving production costs, which is the foundation for the Company to increasingly improve its management.

With strong commitment from the Board of Directors and the efforts of all employees, North Star Construction - Trading Joint Stock Company has successfully built and applied the Occupational Health & Safety management system according to international standards ISO 45001:2018, formerly OHSAS 18001:2007 which was assessed and certified for the first time in 2015, and re-certified every 3 years by the Vietnam British Standards Institute (BSI).

Improvement of the “OHS”, supervision of non-conformity, assessment of customer satisfaction, internal and external assessment, etc. have given more opportunities to the Company to have corrective, preventive actions to improve operational efficiency, thereby improving the quality of products and services towards satisfaction of customer’s increasing needs.

The company’s production and business complies with and meet the objectives and requirements of the standard, minimizes risks, has no occupational accidents, and show the company’s interest in a safe and healthy working environment for employees as well as responsibility to the community and society.

The successful development and application of an occupational health and safety management system according to international standards contributes to improving competitive advantages and promoting the “North Star” brand as a prestigious and leading brand in the field of manufacturing and trading environmentally friendly products of construction and installation for M&E systems.
